A grassy meadow‘neath virgin moon
Mist softens andblurs this secret place
A magical sight forthose in tune
To Elfish tricks thatfolklore trace
Ancient is the faerieroad
Hidden by time and tangledhedge
Laughing maidens fromtheir abode
Skip to dance ajoyful pledge
Bare feet skipthrough waving stems
Dresses flap roundsmooth pale thigh
Dew drops shine upontheir hems
As pollen flicks intothe sky
Bats pour out fromdarkened tower
As bells stir from theirsleepy trance
The circle of Faeriesbegin their dance
Can beauty be moregreater seen
Than this such veiledclandestine show
Those gracefulfigures so tall and lean
That dance beneaththe moonbeam’s glow
Their fingers linked,the ring complete
They frolic in asilvery whirl
The witching hourbrings music sweet
Such magic that dothnow unfurl
Dawn brings morningsgolden crown
As daytime’screatures wake to sing
Bare feet leave acircle brown
The mysterious enchantedfaerie ring
