It would be fair to say that the covers of my books are a little unusual.

Most published books have their covers designed by professional artists.  However I wanted to give others a chance to have some input into the books.

The first book cover was designed by my daughter Lauren, who was eleven at the time.  Although it lacks striking colour it reflects the main points of the book and makes it very personal to me and my family.

For the second book cover I ran a competition for children, inviting them to design a cover based on the synopsis.  The local paper ran an article on the competition and it went into the local libraries and schools.

The response was fantastic and it was difficult to pick a winner.  Finally I chose the one pictured, drawn by Matthew Woodcock who was thirteen.

Two artists in the making?  I think so!
